ABOUT

Being a tutor can be very fulfilling. School support is increasingly in demand, and helping students can provide great working opportunities and rewarding experiences of personal and professional enrichment.

However, working as an education freelancer also comes with its challenges: tutors must create their own professional network, remain up-to-date with the latest pedagogical advancements, and adapt their practice to the needs of a great variety of students.

We want to help tutors in achieving these goals.

By offering learning and support materials designed specifically for freelancers in the education field, Mooc4Tutors aims to help tutors develop pedagogical skills that will enable them to encourage their students’ success.

We believe that a central aspect of tutoring is helping students to become active learners. Therefore, we want to provide tutors with the resources needed to help their students develop their learning to learn competence.

The final goal is to assist tutors in their continuous professional development, thus creating better opportunities in education and establishing higher-quality student support.

Within this project, we will create a booklet providing the legal framework and the specific requirements of tutors in Europe, an Open Online Course (MOOC) covering the most relevant aspects of tutoring while highlighting the inclusive elements of education. Furthermore, we will offer ready-to-use materials that tutors can use in their practice and adapt to their learners. All the materials will be available for free.

Tutors will test the materials, and pedagogy specialists will give their feedback. The partnership will take into consideration their advice and recommendations and will enrich and refine the materials to better meet the needs of the stakeholders.

We aim to make high-quality content that will elevate the skills of those who support others’ education.
