Teaching is a great way to keep learning
Matthea Harvey
CONTEXT AND NEEDS
I. All over Europe, institutions, parents, and students express a growing need for school support, tutoring, and study help. As a result, tutoring in its various forms (one-to-one or small-group tutoring, during the formal school day or outside school hours) is now solidly implemented in the education panorama, creating numerous working and learning opportunities. However, tutors may have come into the educational field through alternative pathways, and thus may have received little to no pedagogical training and require continuous professional development.
II. The Mooc4Tutors project aimed to create better opportunities in education and increase the quality of tutoring and education freelancing in Europe. In particular, the project allows tutors to gain new pedagogical competencies, enhance their professional practice, and expand their skills and knowledge about innovative and inclusive approaches to teaching and learning.
III. The project provides an online course for tutors to further expand their pedagogical knowledge and also provides support material to help them navigate education freelancing and enhance their professional practice.
